Tyres or Tires

Tyres the one made of vulcanized rubber capable of withstanding tones of weight and friction generated during vehicle movement. The black colored ring shaped tyres is basically soft rubber which is hardened by a process called vulcanization where some amount of carbon is added which the pure rubber to increase its wear and tear capabilities. The choice of tyres for the vehicle depends on few factors such as the nature of use; the surface of roads and the load that the vehicle is intend to carry. The tyres are generally distinguished form there outer surface appearance which is called as threads. The threads vary in geometry from one tyre to another. The threads are designed in such away to reduce the wearing away of the tyres. The tyres are also available in varying dimensions and depending on the vehicles rim size the tires are selected. The tires can be tubed or tubeless. The tires carry an inner tube which is filled with air. In the case of tubeless tyres there is no need for tubes to be present, when there is a puncture the air escapes through the hole which leads to a gentle deflation of the tyre and the vehicle still runs. Thus tyres forming an essential and important section for the vehicles behavior.

Riding gears

Every one can ride a vehicle. It can be a car or a bike or any other motored stuff. But do we need riding gears to ride the vehicle??? Not necessarily but to have a safe ride these gears are important. Gears include shoes, riding jackets, gloves, knee guards and finally helmets. When riding a car we are almost safe having the seat belts and air bags. But in the case of bikes we have a minimum safety. So let’s see how these guards provide safety. Helmet the most important one as it protects our head form getting injured. The gloves which provide us comfort for riding and also safe guards our palm and fingers. The shoe is an important safety gear. Some people who ride on bike with higher CC prefers wearing riding jackets and knee caps. Now a days helmet are available with latest provisions like ventilation, face shields, ear protection, intercom. The materials used for designing the gears are carbon fiber, leather and also iron. Thus making them tough and an increased life span. Thus though it sounds crazy to wear all these gears for riding an automobile it is better to put our safety in the top priority and enjoy our ride with maximum safety.

Fuel Injection

In vehicles there are few ways of treating the fuel for combustion. Traditional methods include use of carburetors. The carburetors mix air and fuel and provide the mixture for combustion. But the problem with the carburetors is lack of efficient combustion. Here the fuel and air mixture is ignited using spark plug as the air used here is of low pressure. In the case of fuel injection the air is of high pressure and is mixed with the fuel. The fuel is generally sprayed out of a nozzle to a high pressure air chamber and thus the combustion takes place. Fuel injection results in complete combustion resulting in less carbon at the out. And also provides a high mileage compared to the vehicles on carburetors. Few years before it was only the four wheelers and super bikes had the fuel injection technology. Fuel injection satisfies the user by showcasing the following advantages, high output, less smoke, greater speed, maintenance cost and its capability to work efficiently in varying environments. Though the initial cost is high the above advantages over rules the initial cost for fuel injection. Now days every bike has this technique equipped in it which is found to be effective.

Electric Start in Bikes

It’s been a long time since the traditional kickers are replaced by electric start. Earlier the bikes were usually moved to a distance manually to start the engine. Later it was replaced by pedaling mechanism where we have to pedal the vehicle to a distance to start the engine. This was successfully replaced by the kick starters. These kickers are kicked by leg and this in turn rotates the shaft which is connected to the starter motor. This is said to be a convenient method for starting the bikes. But this in turn created few problems. During winter season the engine gets cooled and thus needs a lot of kicks to get the motor rotating. To overcome this problem we have what called electric starters which work with the help of a starting battery. The current is driven from a starting battery by pressing on the switch connecting the battery. Thus providing the current to the solenoid and thus turning the motor which in turn initiates the engine. Thus these batteries operated starter’s function constantly at varying climatic conditions and also helps people who are physically disabled as they can’t use the kickers. Thus this electric start is considered a best replacement for traditional kickers

Mono shocks

Shock absorbers are generally designed to remove the impact that is generated when the vehicle runs on a hard or irregular terrain. Usually in the case of bikes they are equipped with four shock absorbers, two for the front and another two for the rear wheels. These shock absorbers are in turn connected to the vehicles body. The rear one is connected to the seats where as the front is connected with the handle bars. These shock absorbers are nothing but springs that is capable of withstanding heavy loads. The impact of the vehicle is heavily felt in the rear wheel rather than the front end. So it is important to design the shock absorbers in such a way that it withstands varying load. Now a days there is been a replacement for the shock absorbers in the rear wheel. The pair of shock absorbers is replaced by the mono shocks. These mono shock absorbers are a single spring that is attached to the wheel and the mid portion of the vehicle beneath the seats. This greatly reduces the pain felt by the rider and provides a greater suspension on rough and uneven terrains. These mono shocks provides us smooth ride and ensures less impact on the human body.

Motocross

Motocross bikes are a kind of bikes which sustains in any terrain. These bikes are specially designed for varying terrains and motocross bike racing is conducted every year where these bikes are raced on an all terrain closed circuit and the ability of that bike and the rider is tested. These bikes are locally called as dirt bikes. These bike when kept for race has to meet two conditions, its must be stable in any terrain and must roar in its top speed irrespective to the terrain. There is a freestyle competition for motocross bikes where instead of racing on varying terrains, they concentrates on performing acrobatic stunts jumping with their motocross bikes. Riding these bikes is not as easy as we ride the others, high skills and special techniques have to be adapted to ride these bikes. The riders must have full control in his bike and on the terrain to have a safe ride. Supermoto is a new racing field where these motocross bikes are raced on a racing track. These motocross races are conducted in various categories which is mainly based on the engine capacity. In the recent times motocross racing is gaining as much attention as the super bike racings get.
