Shock absorbers are generally designed to remove the impact that is generated when the vehicle runs on a hard or irregular terrain. Usually in the case of bikes they are equipped with four shock absorbers, two for the front and another two for the rear wheels. These shock absorbers are in turn connected to the vehicles body. The rear one is connected to the seats where as the front is connected with the handle bars. These shock absorbers are nothing but springs that is capable of withstanding heavy loads. The impact of the vehicle is heavily felt in the rear wheel rather than the front end. So it is important to design the shock absorbers in such a way that it withstands varying load. Now a days there is been a replacement for the shock absorbers in the rear wheel. The pair of shock absorbers is replaced by the mono shocks. These mono shock absorbers are a single spring that is attached to the wheel and the mid portion of the vehicle beneath the seats. This greatly reduces the pain felt by the rider and provides a greater suspension on rough and uneven terrains. These mono shocks provides us smooth ride and ensures less impact on the human body.
