LPG In Automobiles

The term LPG stands for liquefied petroleum gas whose major composition is Propane. The LPG comprises of mixture of propane and few other hydrocarbons which are generally gaseous in room temperature but becomes liquid when compressed. This LPG is considered as a better replacement for the traditional petrol and diesels. The LPG vehicles has modified engine which supports the burning of this gas. When this gas is used as fuel, complete combustion of this gas occurs resulting in less smoke. The LPG generally costs less than the gasoline and the vehicle has a greater mileage when running on LPG. The LPG that is used for vehicle must have few characteristics such as high calorific value, limited chances of inflammability, boiling point and less toxic. When LPG is used in an automobile following equipments has to be fixed in order to have proper functioning of the vehicle. LPG fuel tank is a place where the gas is filled and there should be a vaporizer which converts the liquid in to gas. Fuel metering arrangements are made to analyze the amount of fuel left In the fuel tank. Thus these LPG is considered a better replacement for the conventional gasoline and brings down pollution.
