Sensor is a small device that is capable of reading data’s and converting them in to a form that can be analyzed. The sensors in automobiles are used to measure the mechanical conditions such as movements, chemical state and temperature conditions. These data’s are then sent to a micro computer that analyses the data’s sent by the sensor and takes decision based on the analyzed information. Few sensors are designed to perform some specific job such as sensing the throttle position, pressure and temperature sensor, also sensors for timing and speed. These sensors are directly connected to the microcomputer. These microcomputers are equipped with data’s, the incoming information from the sensor is compared with the existing data in the microcomputer and decision is taking accordingly to which the vehicle obeys. Some sensors are used for assisting the vehicles during parking and collision. These sensors analyses the obstacles that the vehicle might face during riding and sends data’s which cautions the driver. Now a days vehicle are provided with fuel sensors which senses the amount of fuel left in the tank and thus the driver gets knowledge on when to refill his vehicle. Thus these developments in sensors have eased the difficulties faced in driving.
